LEVICO
TERME
This is one of the few XIX-century thermal
towns that has been preserved in its original design:
gardens, footpaths full of flowers, thermal buildings and
traditional hotels. A widely visited naturally elegant town,
with houses and streets in alpine style. In the centre there
is the spa renown in the international medical field for the
therapeutic effectiveness of its arsenical-ferruginous
waters without comparison in Italy. The extensive park in
northern style and in its centre the Grand Hotel in Art
Nouveau style famous in Mid-Europe since the 1800 as it was
frequented by the Habsburg Family. At the foot of the town
the homonymous fjord-shape green-blue lake: fishing, rowing
boats and water games. Levico offers its guests thermal and
climatic health and well-being, outdoor sports and
diversions for guests in the hotels, camping sites by the
lake and in apartments, walks on the hills among castles and
biotopes, looking in the historical centre for ancient and
precious examples of the crafts and cuisine of Trentino-South
Tyrol. The prince of cheeses is the local Vezzena, a strong
decisive flavour in the Trentino-South Tyrol cuisine. Behind
Levico, at an altitude of 1,500 m, is the hamlet of Vetriolo;
hotels in the fir-woods near the caves where the thermal
water flows from the rock. At a higher altitude, approx.
2000 m, are the ski-lifts of Panarotta 2002 that can be
easily reached thanks to the good connections to the
Valsugana, the Brenner Motorway and Veneto. Panarotta Mount
is the western door of the Lagorai Range: valleys,
mountains, alpine lakes, alpine huts, untouched nature for
mountain hiking. Facing Levico is the Altopiano di Vezzena,
the widest in Trentino: its smooth hills make it the ideal
place for summer hikers among meadows, woods, small farms
and historical military fortresses; a northern paradise for
cross-country skiing. |

THERMAL SPA
The arsenic ferruginous water that supplies
the thermal spas of Levico and Vetriolo emerges from two
springs at an altitude of 1,500 metres in a mountain grotto
above the town of Levico. This water is able to resolve
states of asthenia and exhaustion caused by stress typical
of our era, allowing the recuperation of vital physical and
psychic energy. In fact Levico is particularly well known
for cures of stress and its consequent psychosomatic
problems. The medical profession recommends this water for
rheumatism, affections of the respiratory airways, of the
thyroid gland, of the blood and for gynaecological problems.
The cures carried out are balneotherapy, inhalations,
irrigations and mud-therapy with applications of mud
prepared directly in the thermal waters. According to
Alessandro Beretta Anguissola, a distinguished medic at the
University of Rome, the properties, effects and uses of the
thermal waters from Levico and Vetriolo are strengthened by
the continuous tests undertaken by the scientific world that
are a constant font of discovery and of confirmation, as is
the continual frequentation of the spas by Italian and
international tourists year after year. The spa is housed in
a modern building situated in a green area of the town,
created at the beginning of the 20th century in
the garden town style which, still today is well preserved
along its avenues. A modern spa, situated near the water
spring in Vetriolo, is the ideal place for an unrepeatable
stay in an unpolutted environment.
A new and original well-being spa is the
proposal for 2003. It is possible to supplement classic spa
treatments with innovative and personalized programmes for
global health – wellness, fitness, beauty – that can last
from a week-end to one or more weeks. This wonderful period
will restore health and energy and bestow plenty of

The
2006 thermal season begins in April and concludes in
October, while the Vetriolo establishment opens from June to
September.
INDICATIONS:
Diseases of the nose and throat: adeno-tonsillar hypertrophy,
allergic rhinitis, chronic adenoid problems, chronic
tonsillitis. 12-24 inhalations and/or aerosols.
Chronic diseases of the respiratory system: chronic
rhino-bronchitis, chronic bronchitis with catarrh;
after-effects of tracheobronchial adenopathy. 12-24
inhalations and/or aerosols.
Neurotic syndromes, particularly if somatized: neurosis,
neurasthenia, neurodystonia. 12/18 baths.
Diseases of the locomotor system; primary and secondary
arthritis; neuro-dystrophic and psycho-somatic rheumatism,
rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis in its dormant phase;
outcome of rheumatic diseases; after-effects of fractures.
12/18 mud baths-baths.
Skin disorders: chemically or physically caused dermopathies,
lichen-ruber-planus, seborrhoeic dermatitis, lymphatic
exudative dermatitis, eczema, urticaria, psoriasis. 12-24
baths.
Gynaecological illnesses: non-tubercular chronic
inflammations and their sequelae (endometritis, metritis,
parametritis, adnexitis, pelvi-peritonitis, pelvic pains);
troubles with a functional or neuro-vegetative origin;
female sterility; neuritis and pelvic neuralgia. 12-24
vaginal irrigations-baths.
Diseases of the thyroid gland: various hyperthyroidism.
